What is a CSA?
CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. You buy a “share” of a local farm’s harvest up front, and in return the farm gives you a box of fresh, seasonal produce — usually every week through the growing season.
How it works
- Sign up with a farm before the season starts.
- Pay for the season (or monthly) — this funds the farm’s planting.
- Pick up your box weekly at the farm, a market, or a drop site.
- You share in the harvest — abundant weeks and lean ones alike.
What does a CSA cost?
Most shares run $20–$40 per week. Many farms offer half-shares or bi-weekly boxes for smaller households.
