Where's the Harvest ("we," "us," or "our") operates wherestheharvest.com (the "Site"), a free directory of farmers markets, CSAs, farm stands, food hubs, and agritourism farms across the United States. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
We do not require an account to use the Site. We collect information in these ways:
- Usage data. Like most websites, our server and analytics tools automatically log standard technical data — IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed, and referring pages — when you visit the Site.
- Information you submit. If you use our Add or claim your farm listing form, we collect the details you provide (business name, contact info, location, hours, and similar) in order to publish or update a listing.
- Location, if you allow it. If you use "Near me" search, your browser may share your approximate location with the Site to find nearby listings. This is only used to run that search.
Cookies and tracking technologies
We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve it. This involves cookies that collect standard usage data such as pages visited, session duration, and approximate location. No personally identifiable information is collected.
Third-party data
Most listings on the Site come from public USDA Local Food Directories and OpenStreetMap data, not from the businesses themselves. If you run a listed business and want it corrected or removed, use our submission form or email us at the address below.
Children's privacy
The Site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws like the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) or the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to opt out of certain data sharing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the email below.
Data security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we hold, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes take effect when posted on this page, with the "Last updated" date above reflecting the most recent revision.
